Intervale Capital is a private equity firm investing in the upstream energy sector, with a particular focus on middle-market manufacturing and service businesses. The firm, together with its predecessor firms run by the managing partners, currently holds investments in ten companies with operations in oil and natural gas producing regions around the world. Professionals in our firm have led over 100 transactions in the oilfield services space over the last twenty years.
We primarily invest in partnership with successful and experienced management teams seeking capital and guidance for growth. While management typically achieves some measure of liquidity in Intervale transactions, we like to see management teams re-invest a significant portion of their proceeds in the deal in order to ensure our interests are aligned.
We primarily invest in two kinds of companies, platforms and add-ons. The attributes for each are as follows:
Platform Investments: Key Attributes
Strong management with significant ownership
History of profitability
Minimum EBITDA of $3 million. Preferred range of $5 to $30 million
Sustainable long-term competitive advantage
Potential for significant growth through acquisitions, organic growth and expanded product offerings
Control position preferred
Add-on Investments: Key Attributes
Our investments typically take the form of buyouts and growth equity. We can complete transactions as large as $250 million.
We encourage interested companies to contact us if they believe their business meets our investment criteria.
